    About this event

    Course Code: 23447

    What is this workshop about?

In the first session we will take you from the very basics, such as setting up your sewing machine and discovering what the ‘knobs’ do. In the second week you will practice your new skills and sew a simple project.

    Who is this workshop for?

These two workshops are aimed at people who have little or no knowledge of how to use their sewing machine and how to sew using a machine. It can also serve as a refresher for those who haven’t sewn for a long time.

Entry Requirements to do this workshop:

A basic level of conversational and written English. Reasonable motor skills, as you will need to be able to manipulate fabric and tools. Plus, you will need a working sewing machine and basic tools and materials.

    How you will be assessed?

Through questions and answers, the completion of weekly learner reflection forms and a sample of your work completed during the session.

How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?

None but between the first and second session you will need to prepare your fabric for the project you will be making.

After this workshop you might like to… build on your new skills and attend our Sewing for Beginners 5-week course, Hand-made Fabric Flowers, or Jewellery Making for Beginners.

    What learners need to bring/supply

Students will need a working sewing machine and provide all materials and tools too. A list of materials required will be provided with your booking confirmation. We also suggest items you would normally throw away to reduce costs and be sustainable.

    Additional Information

The amount of time practising is totally up to you but the more you put in, the more you will get out of this course.
