What is this workshop about?
This workshop will introduce you to how to protect yourself and your children from potential threats online. Using the internet can be exciting for children and young people, but do you know how to protect a child/young person from inappropriate content and contact? Find out how to help a child stay safe by attending this workshop. Discover why a healthy relationship with technology is so important, and how you and your child can become more aware of online usage. Discover different tools you can use to help you monitor, develop and maintain healthy tech habits.
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for adults with an interest in protecting children online who want to learn how to improve their general online safety.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
A basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this workshop.
How you will be assessed?
Question and answer, discussion and learner reflection
What learners need to bring/supply
Learners must have access to a laptop, tablet or desktop with good wifi and a webcam.

Online live streamed - Google Classroom
Venue Information
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

*Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet the following criteria:
- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2024
- UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
