    What is this course about?

    This workshop will introduce you to how to protect yourself from potential threats to your personal safety online and will cover the following topics:

    • Exploring the dangers and benefits of the internet
    • Identify different web endings and their meaning
    • Discuss internet jargons and what they mean
    • Gain general information about the Internet

     

    Who is this course for?

    Anyone who would like to protect themselves whilst using the internet.

     

    Entry Requirements to do this course:

    No previous knowledge is required, however a basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this workshop. You must also have basic IT skills.

     

    After this course you might like to… continue your journey by attending other digital skills workshops. Just check on our website for new planned courses and workshops.

     

    What learners need to bring/supply Learners must have access to PC or tablet for online courses.

    NOTE: This course is for Hertfordshire Residents Only - This course is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet a set *criteria - please refer to the 'Further Information' tab.

    Venue Information

    This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

    This course is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet the following criteria:

    • A Hertfordshire Resident
    • Aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2022
    • UK National and lived in UK for last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in EEA for last 3 years
