What is this workshop about?
This workshop is designed to support numeracy skills for learners who speak English as a second or additional language. It covers topics such as time and money, shapes and measurements, positional vocabulary and data. This workshop will help you to learn the vocabulary you need to understand numeracy tasks in English. This workshop is delivered using online resources. Learners can continue to use these resources in their own time to extend their knowledge.
Who is this workshop for?
Anybody who speaks English as a second or additional language, and wishes to improve their vocabulary in relation to numeracy and maths.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
A basic level of conversational English will be required to access the resources.
How you will be assessed?
Group discussion, end of topic questions.
After this workshop you might like to… progress to study Functional Skills maths courses.
What learners need to bring/supply
You will be asked to complete an enrolment form at the start of the course. Please bring along one form of ID to facilitate this.

This workshop is fully funded by the Department of Education for Education for adults who meet the following criteria:
- Aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2024.
- A Hertfordshire resident.
- A UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years.
- Do not hold a Maths GCSE qualification.
