    What is this course about?

    This course will provide you with the information and skills:

    • Create a good profile and online brand that employers look for.
    • Effectively prepare for online job searching and submitting applications
    • Write a CV using a good structure, including a strong personal statement. Write a professional cover letter.
    • Learn what employers look for during recruitment to help your CV and application stand out.
    • Preparing for interviews, face to face and online.
    • Interview skills and techniques.
    • Preparing yourself for different types of interview questions.

    Who is this course for?

    This is for anyone who would like to learn more about applying for jobs online and the importance of a professional personal brand. If you need to update or write a CV with good structure and content and want to learn about how to prepare for interviews and practice interview skills.

    If you are currently looking for employment or volunteering this will widen your knowledge and skills in these areas.

    Entry Requirements to do this course:

    A good level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this course.

    How you will be assessed?

    You will need to complete a weekly learner reflection to evidence your learning and take part in discussions and activities.

    How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?

    None. It will however be advised to practise the skills learnt within the session.

    What learners need to bring/supply

    If the course is online, you will need a PC or laptop with good Wi-Fi and a webcam or built-in camera. Please note a mobile device alone will not suffice.

    *Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet the following criteria:

    • A Hertfordshire Resident
    • Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2024
    • UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
