What is this workshop about?
On this introductory course we will look at the way the industries are financed, the technology that is used and the importance of audience. We will discuss basic creative skills involved in the production of the moving image such as camera work and editing techniques and look at job roles and transferable skills required to work in the industry. We will cover structure of the media industry, audience, camera angles, production schedules, job roles and how to apply for them. Who is this workshop for?
Adults who are interested in working within the media industry. It also serves as a good introduction to the type of topics you would study if you pursued a media related qualification in the future.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
A basic level of conversational and written English is required.
How you will be assessed?
Through questions and answers and the completion of weekly learner reflection forms.
How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?
You need to carry out a small amount of online research to familiarise yourself with each week’s topic.

- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2023
- UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
