    What is this workshop about?

    This workshop will introduce you to the basic skills that you need to use Microsoft Word, whether it’s for work or personal use. In this workshop you will learn:

    • Basic Word functions such as save, print, share, copy and paste.
    • Use the many options available in Word.
    • How to use formatting such as font, alignment, layout.
    • Add and modify shapes and pictures.
    • How to use images, SmartArt graphics and WordArt

    Who is this workshop for?

    This course is for people who are new to Word and want to learn how to use the key features. It is also suitable for anyone needing to refresh their skills.

    Entry Requirements to do this workshop:

    A basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this course. You must also have a basic level of computer skills.

    How you will be assessed?

    Question and answer, discussion and Learner reflection.

    What learners need to bring/supply

    Learners must have access to Microsoft word, and a laptop.

    Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Department for Education Adult Skills Fund, for adults who meet the following criteria:

    • A Hertfordshire Resident
    • Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2025
    • A UK national or anyone with a lawful immigration status in the UK. You will not be eligible if you are in the UK under any of the following conditions:
      • On a student visa
      • On a sponsorship visa
      • On a visa or residence permit that restricts or prohibits study
      • In the UK on holiday (with or without a visa)
