What is this workshop about?
This workshop will introduce you to the basic skills that you need to use Microsoft Word, whether it’s for work or personal use. In this workshop you will learn:
- Basic Word functions such as save, print, share, copy and paste
- Use the many options available in Word
- How to use formatting such as font, alignment, layout
- Add and modify shapes and pictures
- How to use images, SmartArt graphics and WordArt
Who is this workshop for?
This course is for people who are new to Word and want to learn how to use the key features. It is also suitable for anyone needing to refresh their skills.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
A basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this course. You must also have a basic level of computer skills
How you will be assessed?
Question and answer, discussion and Learner reflection.
What learners need to bring/supply
Learners must have access to Microsoft word, and a laptop or desktop with good wifi and a webcam.

Online live streamed - Google Classroom
Venue Information
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2024
- UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
