What is this workshop about?
This short workshop is focused on highlighting the essential components and considerations when delivering Information, Advice, and Guidance (IAG). Topics explored include: GDPR, unconscious bias, fact v opinion, effective communication skills and common barriers.
Who is this workshop for?
Individuals who would like to gain a deeper understanding of what is meant by information, advice and guidance; and essential factors to be considered when delivering IAG as a service.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
A good level of conversational English is needed to complete this course. No previous knowledge is required, however some digital skills are essential as this will be an online course that includes using Word doc/Google doc.
How you will be assessed?
Discussions, observation, Q&A and the completion of a worksheet.
What learners need to bring/supply
Learners must have access to a laptop, tablet or desktop with good wifi and a webcam.

Venue Information
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Department for Education Adult Skills Fund, for adults who meet the following criteria:
- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2025
- A UK national or anyone with a lawful immigration status in the UK. You will not be eligible if you are in the UK under any of the following conditions:
- On a student visa
- On a sponsorship visa
- On a visa or residence permit that restricts or prohibits study
- In the UK on holiday (with or without a visa)
