    What is this Course about?

    This course is aimed at those who wish to publish their own book.  During the sessions we will explore how the industry works, how to turn your idea into a reality, how to sell worldwide via a variety of platforms. Plus, topics such as the editing process, budgeting and finding industry professionals to help you fulfil your goal. 

    Who is this Course for?

    For people interested in turning a book idea into an eBook and/or physical book which can be sold or used as a marketing tool for their business.

    Entry Requirements to do this Course:

    A basic level of conversational and written English, an understanding of computer software e.g. Microsoft office etc. and using the Internet.

    How you will be assessed?

    Through questions and answers and the completion of weekly learner reflection forms.

    How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?

    As with anything creative enterprise the more you put in the more you gain. But typically, 1-2 hours per week.

    What learners need to bring/supply

    Students will need a note pad and pen/pencil. 

    Additional Information

    The amount of time practising is totally up to you but the more you put in, the more you will get out of this course.

    NOTE: This course is for Hertfordshire Residents Only - *With the exception of the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet a set criteria - please see further details under the 'Further Information' heading.

    Online live streamed - Google Classroom

    Venue Information

    This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

    Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Department for Education Adult Skills Fund, for adults who meet the following criteria:

    • A Hertfordshire Resident
    • Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2025
    • A UK national or anyone with a lawful immigration status in the UK. You will not be eligible if you are in the UK under any of the following conditions:
      • On a student visa
      • On a sponsorship visa
      • On a visa or residence permit that restricts or prohibits study
      • In the UK on holiday (with or without a visa)
