What is this workshop about?
Coming up with a business idea and starting a business can seem overwhelming and complicated. There are so many things you must consider. One of the most important elements is how to fund your business in the first place. This short course should give you some idea of where to start. We will look at weekly accounts, we will consider several different ways of borrowing money and we will look key considerations around borrowing including APRs and ‘loan periods’
Who is this workshop for?
For people who are considering starting up their own business but do not know where to start.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
A basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this course. You must also have a basic level of computer skills.
How you will be assessed?
By completion of a learner reflection and a basic weekly accounts sheet.
What learners need to bring/supply
Pen and notepad.

Online live streamed - Google Classroom
Venue Information
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

*Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet the following criteria:
- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2024
- UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
