Helping Your Child with Phonics

What is this workshop about?

This taster course is designed to give you an overview of what ‘phonics’ is and how phonics is taught in school from age 3-7 yrs old. You will learn about Phonics terms such as ‘digraph’ and ‘segmenting’ and how to say the sounds. You will be given ideas and resources that will help develop their child’s reading and writing skills.

Who is this workshop for?

For parents, carers and anyone working with children aged 3-7yrs.

Entry Requirements to do this workshop:

No previous experience is required, however ability to write and understand some English is necessary and some digital skills to allow you to access and use Google Classroom is desirable.  

How you will be assessed?

Through questions, quizzes and a learner reflection

What learners need to bring/supply

You must have a tablet or laptop with a working camera that can access Google Classroom

Additional Information

Please note that this is a live interactive online course for adults, learners will be expected to have their camera on and participate fully at all times.
