What is this Course about?
You will learn how to help your child develop a wide variety of knowledge and skills by using stories. Children love stories and can develop Literacy, Maths, Science and Creative skills (to name just a few) by engaging in activities related to a favourite story. You will make your own story sack and different resources each week to use with your child at home.
Who is this Course for?
For parents who want to learn how to support their child’s learning at home.
Entry Requirements to do this Course:
A basic level of conversational and written English is required
How you will be assessed?
Through verbal questions and answers and weekly learner reflections
How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?
None, although we encourage all learners to put into practise what they have learnt and use the resources with their child during the week.

Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Department for Education Adult Skills Fund, for adults who meet the following criteria:
- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2025
- A UK national or anyone with a lawful immigration status in the UK. You will not be eligible if you are in the UK under any of the following conditions:
- On a student visa
- On a sponsorship visa
- On a visa or residence permit that restricts or prohibits study
- In the UK on holiday (with or without a visa)
