The course is split into 2 parts:
- Part 1 - will prepare you to study a Functional Skills qualification course. In this time your teacher will also assess you, to see if you are ready for a qualification course. At the end of part 1 you will either progress on to part 2 or you will stay on part 1 for a little longer.

You will be taught by a qualified teacher guiding you through the course. Your course will be taught twice a week over 2.5 hrs.
