    What is this Course about?

    Are you interested in volunteering or working in a nursery or pre-school?

    This introductory course will explore childcare provision in early years settings. You will discover how babies and young children learn and develop. You will find out about the roles and responsibilities of carers and volunteers in early years settings. You will also be given guidance on applying for jobs, where to find vacancies and how to ‘sell’ yourself on an application form.

    Who is this Course for?

    Adults who are interested in working or volunteering in an early years setting such as a nursery or pre-school

    Entry Requirements to do this Course:

    A good level of conversational and written English is required

    You must have a tablet or laptop with a working camera that can access Google Classroom

    Please note that this is a live interactive online course for adults, learners will be expected to have their camera on and participate fully at all times.

    Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Department for Education Adult Skills Fund, for adults who meet the following criteria:

    • A Hertfordshire Resident
    • Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2025
    • A UK national or anyone with a lawful immigration status in the UK. You will not be eligible if you are in the UK under any of the following conditions:
      • On a student visa
      • On a sponsorship visa
      • On a visa or residence permit that restricts or prohibits study
      • In the UK on holiday (with or without a visa)
