What is this course about?
Do you want to use digital tools to record and preserve your experiences? Digital presentation is a good way to collect, preserve and share memories. This course will show you how to use Google Slides, Drawings and Docs to present and share different types of media. There are five main areas that we will cover during this course:
- Design a poster about you - Use Google Drawings to design a poster with a chosen font and colour. Insert images, resize and move the images.
- Design an Infographic in Google Drawings -Summarise and communicate information visually by creating an infographic in Google Drawings.
- Create a Photo Journal in Google Docs - Write a journal about your experiences and add photos to a digital document
- Create a Digital Picture Book - Write a story with images by creating a digital picture book slideshow presentation
- Final Digital Scrapbook - Use images, text, and video to compile a digital scrapbook in Google slides to share with your friends and family.
Who is this course for?
This course is aimed towards people who already have some digital know-how and want to improve their digital skills.
Entry Requirements to do this course:
A basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this course. You must also have basic IT skills.
How you will be assessed?
Through questions and answers, observations and the completion of weekly learner reflection forms.
How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?
It will be advised to use the skills learnt after sessions practise on your own devices.
After this course you might like to… attend further courses in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint or Digital Skills for work.
What learners need to bring/supply
Learners must have access to PC or Tablet.
Additional Information
The amount of time practising is totally up to you but the more you put in, the more you will get out of this course.
Please note there will be no class on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May 2024.

Online live streamed - Google Classroom
Venue Information
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2023
- UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
