What is this Course about?
On this course we will explore how to take stunning photographs using your tablet, phone, or compact camera. Subjects covered will include the ten rules of composition, exploring colour and texture and learning how to manipulate your photographs used free apps.
Who is this Course for?
This course is aimed at people who want to learn the basic of photography using a digital device.
Entry Requirements to do this Course:
A basic level of conversational and written English and have the basic skills using their tablet, phone or compact camera.
How you will be assessed?
Through questions and answers, the completion of weekly learner reflection forms and a sample of your work completed during the session.
How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?
None! But the more you practice between sessions the more you are likely to gain from attending.
What learners need to bring/supply
Students will need a fully working and charged phone, tablet, or compact camera.

Online live streamed - Google Classroom
Venue Information
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.

Except for the registration fee, this course/workshop is fully funded by The Department for Education Adult Skills Fund, for adults who meet the following criteria:
- A Hertfordshire Resident
- Aged 19 years or older on 31st August 2025
- A UK national or anyone with a lawful immigration status in the UK. You will not be eligible if you are in the UK under any of the following conditions:
- On a student visa
- On a sponsorship visa
- On a visa or residence permit that restricts or prohibits study
- In the UK on holiday (with or without a visa)
