What is this workshop about?
Learn how to understand some of the maths behind encryption and password security. This workshop will introduce you to how to protect yourself from potential threats to your personal safety online and how a more robust authentication can help to significantly enhance your security.
Who is this workshop for?
Anyone who would like to protect themselves whilst using the internet.
Entry Requirements to do this workshop:
No previous knowledge is required; however a basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this workshop. You must also have basic IT skills.

Through questions and answers, the completion of learner reflection form.

What happens after I book this workshop?
There are two steps to complete before studying with us and booking on here is the first step. Your next step will be to enrol on your chosen course following the instructions attached to your order confirmation email.
NOTE: This workshop is for Hertfordshire Residents Only - *This workshop is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet a set criteria - please see further details under the 'Further Information' heading.
Online live streamed
This course/workshop is run as real-time online using Google Classroom. This means that instead of having to go to a classroom, the classroom comes to you! You are taught by a teacher and you will have classmates that you share ideas with. To take part you will need a tablet or laptop/computer with a webcam and microphone to enable you to interact. A few days before the start, your teacher will email you with instructions on how to join the class.
This workshop is fully funded by the Department of Education for Education for adults who meet the following criteria:
- Aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2023.
- A Hertfordshire resident.
- A UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years.
- Do not hold a Maths GCSE qualification.
