    What is this course about?

    This is an intermediate level course which will help you improve your skills and give you confidence in using Microsoft Word. The main areas that we will cover during this course are:

    • Find and Replace features
    • Indents and Tabs
    • Modify line and paragraph spacing in your documents
    • Add and modify hyperlinks and bulleted and numbered lists
    • Modify page orientation, margins and size
    • How to add page, section, and column breaks
    • Working with columns
    • Add and modify headers and footers and page numbers
    • Using Editor
    • Working with Tables
    • Track Changes and Comments, inspect and protect documents

    Who is this course for?

    This course is for people who are competent in using the basic Word skills and now want to learn more features and functions to further improve their skills.

    Entry Requirements to do this course:

    A basic level of conversational and written English is needed to complete this course. You must also have a basic level of Microsoft Word and computer skills.

    How you will be assessed?

    Question and answer, discussions, and observations. You will also be asked to complete Learner reflections.

    How much studying will I need to do outside of the lesson?

    It will be advised to use the skills learnt in the classes and practise on your own Word documents and devices.

    What learners need to bring/supply

    Please bring your own device with access to Microsoft office to this course.

    NOTE: This course is for Hertfordshire Residents Only - With the exception of the registration fee, this course is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet a set *criteria - please refer to the 'Further Information' tab.

    *Except for the registration fee, this course is fully funded by The Education & Skills Funding Agency for adults who meet the following criteria:

    • A Hertfordshire Resident
    • Aged 19 years or older on 1st September 2023
    • UK National and lived in the UK for the last 3 years or EEA National with settled/pre-settled status and lived in the UK/EEA for the last 3 years
