Understanding & Assessing Persistent Literacy Difficulties Peartree Spring

This half-day training session will provide SENCos and literacy leads with the skills and resources to assess and identify pupils who may have persistent literacy difficulties.

Aims:

· Understand the key factors impacting on early literacy development​

· Know how persistent literacy difficulties may present in the Primary classroom​

· Understand the cognitive characteristics of persistent literacy difficulties ​

· Know how to use informal assessments to identify characteristics of persistent literacy difficulties​

· Signpost to suitable strategies and interventions to use to support persistent literacy difficulties.

All delegates will receive an e-folder of resources, including informal assessments for cognitive skills
