A half day training session to support SENCos and Literacy Leads with the skills to assess and identify pupils who have persistent literacy difficulties.
Aims:
Understand the key factors impacting on early literacy development
· Know how persistent literacy difficulties may present in the Primary classroom
· Understand the cognitive characteristics of persistent literacy difficulties
· Know how to use informal assessments to identify characteristics of persistent literacy difficulties
· Signpost to suitable strategies and interventions to use to support persistent literacy difficulties.
All delegates will receive an e-folder of resources, including informal assessments for cognitive skills
