About this course
This short course is designed to equip teachers and teaching assistants with the knowledge to use edtech to enhance accessibility and support for children with SEND. The course covers a range of practical tools that can be easily implemented in the classroom. Participants will learn about accessibility features available on Microsoft, Google, and Apple platforms, as well as third-party tools that can support learners with SEND. The course is aimed at both primary and secondary school educators in mainstream schools, and will provide practical ideas for creating an inclusive learning environment, including the creation of digital stories and schedules.
Learning Outcomes
- look at how to make iPads, Chromebooks and Laptops more accessible to pupils
- explore a range of tools specifically designed to support learners with SEND
- hear about the use of multimedia technology to create digital stories and schedules
- think about how some of the new AI tools available can help staff improve accessibility to learning for their students
