About this course
Join us to explore a range of strategies that will empower you and your EYFS team to effectively implement visual support; to give your youngest children the tools they need to interact, communicate and express themselves with confidence. This course will empower you to use visual aids with confidence and effectively, whilst helping children in your setting to feel safe and secure and to enable them to communicate, understand and follow the daily routine.
Using a visual can often help children to overcome difficulties with joining activities and help to reduce anxiety. Sharing a visual to show the child they have just finished a task and are about to start another can be a simple way for children to understand the routine. We will discuss the impact of a consistent routine, expectations and ensure all adults share the same approach.
Learning outcomes
- to understand how to use visual support to effectively support all children, including children who have additional needs and those learning English as a second language
- model with confidence, how to use visuals so all members of your team implement them with a consistent approach
- discover how to personalise visuals for children with additional needs
- children will feel safe and better understand the structure of the day and routines
