SEND Academy: Person-Centred Working and 'This is Me'

This half-day workshop focuses on ensuring children and young people are at the centre of all we do in Hertfordshire, and support participants to understand how they can remain person-centred in their role. The workshop will introduce participants to the ‘This is Me’ tool, which helps everyone involved support the child or young person by ensuring their voices are heard and included in the EHC process and their EHC Plan, while also focusing on aspirations and goals.

At the end of this session participants will be able to:

• Explain what person-centred approaches are and how to ensure children and young people are heard

• Discuss the views of children and young people across Hertfordshire

• Explain how to use ‘This is Me’ to ensure the voice of the child is reflected in their work

• Explain how to support settings to complete and use the form for their child or young person
