This workshop focuses on ensuring our Education, Health & Care (EHC) Plans are accessible and user friendly for children and young people and their families. The session will explore what we mean by accessibility needs, with a focus of accessible language and effective signposting and methods of support.

At the end of this session participants will be able to:

Explain what is meant by the term accessibility

State how to identify and support accessibility needs that families may have

State how to appropriately support and signpost children, young people and families with accessibility needs

State how to identify language that is inaccessible

State how to improve language to ensure it is understandable and accessible

Explain how EHC Plans can be made available in alternative formats

Parking

Parking is available on site.

Hertfordshire Development Centre (HDC) is accessible by public transport, being approximately a 10-minute walk from Stevenage bus and railway stations. This link provides directions to the venue.

Parking spaces for HDC delegates and visitors will be available on both the upper level and in the underground carpark; blue badge spaces are available on the upper level, outside the main entrance.
