Inference Detectives Apsley Campus

A two-hour Face to Face practical session for Primary SENCOs, Class teachers and Teaching Assistants

Inference Detectives is a small group or one-to-one intervention (1 x 20 mins weekly) for pupils in early KS2 who can decode at Year 3 to 4 level but are struggling to make inferences when reading. This can also be used with pupils in Years 5 and 6 who are reading at Year 3 to 4 level.

This training will include:

• What inferential comprehension difficulties are, and what skills pupils need.
• The KS2 reading expectations regarding inference.
• How to implement the ‘Inference Detectives’ programme.
• How to review progress.
