About this event
This is a face to face session that covers all the elements of the accredited MECC programme to enable professionals to have healthy conversations, set goals and fully support clients to make behaviour change.
Information about this training
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an approach to behaviour change that utilises the millions of day-to-day interactions that organisations and individuals have with other people to support them in making positive changes to their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
This training explores behaviour change principles and models, having healthy conversations practice, key questioning skills and practice and goal setting with service users and is run over 6 hours.
Learning Outcomes
Explanation of What MECC is, Having Healthy conversations, Goal Setting with service users, and exploring MECC philosophy, Further training examples, Health Inequalities, a Public Health focus.
Who is the course aimed at?
Aimed at professionals (HCC, NHS, GPs, Community Pharmacies, Healthy Hubs) Carers, volunteers, voluntary sector organisations who have conversations with people around making changes.
