This is 1.5 hour online training course to increase knowledge and understanding about gambling related harm and to help people find the right support.
Information about this training
This training will help learners develop their knowledge and understanding of gambling related harms.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will:
- develop their knowledge, skills, understanding and awareness of gambling related harms (GRH)
- understand the nature of harmful gambling and gambling-related harms and their impact on health and wellbeing
- know how to provide help and support to an individual at risk of, or affected by, gambling related harms and signpost to appropriate specialist services.
Who is the course aimed at?
This course is suitable for a wide range of roles. It is suitable for front line staff (including volunteers), managers, commissioners and people in strategic roles. The course will increase your knowledge of how people are affected, how to spot the signs that someone might be experiencing harm and where to signpost people to for help. This training is suitable for voluntary sector organisations, health and social care staff, local authority staff, people who work in the education sector, criminal justice system, and any other type of organisation that is in contact with members of the public.
This course is also suitable for people who want to increase their personal knowledge of gambling-related harm to know how to help friends, family or colleagues, or may be caring for someone affected by gambling.
