    A workshop that looks at Autism and helps people to understand the condition.

    Evidence Base: Best practice as required in NICE guidelines promotes a multidisciplinary approach, with parents and carers playing a key part in having ownership and knowledge to support their children and young people.

    Objective: This workshop is designed to empower parents and carers with the knowledge and skills they need to reduce dependence on statutory services. Autism is aneurological condition – this workshop explains the different ways Autism may present in children and young people.

    Workshop Content:

    • Characteristics of Autism
    • Recognising myths & facts
    • Understanding how Autism affects executive functioning & emotional regulation

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Gain knowledge and understanding of Autism
    • Understand the different ways Autism may present
    • Explore both the strengths and the challenges of Autism
    • Identify and be equipped to access the support and services needed

    This workshop is commissioned by Hertfordshire County Council.
