    9.30am - 2.30pm

Being Me - Supporting your child to understand their neurodiversity

A one-day event focused on empowering parents and carers to learn strategies and approaches to support their children and young people to understand their neurodiversity.

The day includes a key-note speech from Joe Wells, host of the Neurodivergent Moments podcast talking about his own experience growing up as an autistic young person as well as lived experience insights from children and young people from across the SPACE community. Other speakers include Sophia Christophi, a young woman with Tourette’s and Autism, and a SPACE Trainer and Peer Support Worker; Chris Russell, SPACE Training Lead and Family Support Manager.

As a result of attending this event you will learn strategies, tools and approaches to:

    • Support your child to identify their needs
    • Empower your child to advocate for their needs
    • Empower your child to discover and develop meaningful friendships
    • Support your child to proactively problem solve and develop the tools to manage tricky situations
