Evidence Base: Typically, children with SEND experience high levels of anxiety. This can result, amongst other things, in school refusal, isolation, difficult and dangerous behaviour and emotional dysregulation. This can have a detrimental impact on mental and physical wellbeing.
Objective: Parents and carers are more confident in recognising and managing their child’s anxiety.

Learning Outcomes:
- Understand what anxiety is, the signs of anxiety and how it can present
- Recognise the impact that anxiety can have
- Understand fight-flight-freeze responses and how to support them
- Understand and explore approaches to help support meltdowns
- Explore strategies and approaches to help build resilience for both parents and carers and their children and young people
