About this event
The Salmon Club sessions take place at the new leisure centre, opened in 2012, situated in the heart of historical St Albans in Hertfordshire called Westminster Lodge.
It is situated at the bottom of Holywell Hill and St Stephens Hill, opposite St Albans Abbey station and close to the Sainsburys supermarket.
The Club welcomes new disabled members to our swimming sessions and actively encourages their carers, family members and friends to accompany them in order to share the enjoyment and experience.
One visit, in order for potential new members to familiarise themselves with the Club, is allowed to the club session and to ascertain relevant information. Thereafter the club’s application form must be completed by the new member, and any family members wishing to attend, the annual subscription fee(s) paid, and medical practitioner’s written permission (if disabled, in order to ensure that swimming would not be harmful and to enable the helpers to be aware of a new member’s needs) must be obtained and submitted on the next visit.
A membership card will be issued, renewable annually, to acknowledge payment of the annual subscription, which becomes due on 1st January. This is kept to a minimum and is currently £6 per member, or £5 if paid by standing order, (This is for the Salmon Club ONLY and does not include any other activities at Westminster Lodge).
The committee reserves the right to refuse membership, at their discretion, in the best interest of the club.
