About this event
Our project for gardeners with additional support needs (including Learning Disability and Mental Health Issues) is called Growing Ability. It is a social and therapeutic horticulture project that takes place at our community gardens and allotments in Ransom's Recreation Ground, Hitchin. We work in a person-centred way and aim to co-create our activities with the gardeners as much as possible. Below is a link to a video to give you an idea of what the project looks like:

This is an outreach project for young people (16+) with additional support needs (including learning disabilities and mental health issues). The project aims to introduce people to social and therapeutic horticulture and other nature-based activities in a safe and supportive environment. The project runs for 3 days over the Easter Holidays 9th-11th April 2024.
N.B.
We work with people who have mild to moderate support needs, usually at a staff/gardener ratio of between 1:2 and 1/3+
We are not CQC registered and therefore do not provide personal care.
