    This workshop is designed to empower parents and carers with the knowledge and confidence needed to apply for an EHCP.

    Evidence Base:
    Best practice as outlined in the SEND Code of Practice promotes a person-centred, multi-agency approach, with parents and carers playing a central role in identifying needs and contributing evidence. Early understanding of the EHCP process supports effective collaboration and informed decision-making.

    Objective:
    This workshop is designed to empower parents and carers with the knowledge and confidence needed to apply for an EHCP. It explains the legal framework, thresholds, and evidence required, enabling families to navigate the process more effectively and advocate for their child or young person.

    • What an EHCP is and who can apply
    • Understanding the legal criteria and timescales
    • Gathering and presenting supporting evidence
    • Common myths and misunderstandings about EHCPs
    • The roles of education, health, and social care
    • What to expect at each stage of the process
