    About this event

Join us for a fresh look at one of our most important estate collections, following the launch of the revised catalogue at Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies. Highlights of the collection will be on display.

Special guest speaker, Henry Lytton Cobbold, 3rd Baron Cobbold will give an illustrated talk about the works of his 3xgreat grandfather, Edward Bulwer Lytton, the Victorian novelist who coined such famous phrases as 'the pen is mightier than the sword', 'the great unwashed' and 'It was a dark and stormy night'.

He will be joined by County Archivist Chris Bennett who will speak about the history and importance of the collection, and highlights will be on display in the Archive Reading Room.
