    Descend into our stores for a free behind-the-scenes tour of Hertfordshire Archives & Local Studies

    Learn about what we collect, how documents are stored and how we preserve them for the future. See what we keep in our basement and glimpse some of our amazing treasures.

    Venue Information

    In addition to our week day opening hours we also open on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 10am to 2pm. We're open until 7.30pm on the first Tuesday of each month by appointment only. Contact us by 9am on the previous Friday to book. Customers are welcome to bring their own flask and refreshments to eat in our foyer area. Water cooler (bring your own re-usable cup or bottle). Purchases can be made from the Heritage Shop in person or through our e-store.
