    This half-day facilitated by the Hertfordshire County Council Educational Psychology Service focuses on RSHE in specialist SEND settings and is for PSHE / RSHE leads, SENCOs, teaching staff and members of the senior leadership team who are supporting learners with additional and unique learning needs.

    The session will cover:

    • What Relationship, Sex, and Health Education (RSHE) is, why it is important and what the law is.
    • What key stakeholders (children and young people, parents and teachers) have said about RSHE.
    • Underlying principles for successful RSHE for learners identified with SEND.
    • How to engage and collaborate with stakeholders when planning RSHE.
    • Ways of supporting staff and parents with RSHE.
    • Linking RSHE to school culture and policy.
    • A safe space to explore RSHE in a non-judgmental way.
    • Exploring the psychology of relationships
    • Discussing and exploring resources
    • Plus, the opportunity to reflect, network and share experiences and best practice in this area with colleagues from other local schools.
