Primary Music CPD 2: Progression

During this Networking session presenting schools will share how they equip their teachers with the knowledge and tools to effectively foster progression in music education.

We will:

• Delve into the concept of progression in music education, examining how it aligns with the national curriculum.
• Explore techniques for mapping music curriculum progression across key stages, ensuring continuity and coherence in learning outcomes.
• Explore a variety of approaches and teaching methodologies designed to scaffold learning and facilitate musical development from foundation to mastery levels.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among music teachers, creating opportunities for professional growth and collective problem solving. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with examples of how to design and implement a progressive music curriculum that nurtures students' musical skills, knowledge, and appreciation, setting them on a lifelong journey of musical exploration and creativity
