    About this event

This is an online 1 day professional development course (from 10am – 3pm) for Hertfordshire practitioners working with parents of teenagers and/or working with teenagers. It provides an opportunity to understand the teenage brain development and the adolescent developmental process, as well as to consider both risk and resilience. It includes ideas and strategies for professionals working with teenagers and their parents to help them cope with challenging feelings and behaviour, and to support young people in an emotionally healthy context. The day brings together the latest understanding from neuroscience and developmental psychology and the principles of The Nurturing Programme.

    LEARNING OUTCOMES FOR PROFESSIONALS

This course will give professionals the opportunity to reflect upon the different influences of teenage brain development on behaviour and create an understanding of what young people need from parents and other adults. An understanding of the concept of risk and resilience will also be explored, so that professionals feel equipped to be able to embed their knowledge into practice.

This course is ONLY for Hertfordshire practitioners and those who work with Hertfordshire young people and families.

Please ensure that before you book on to the training, you have the capacity to attend for the full duration of the course, from 10am – 3pm. Failure to cancel your place within sufficient time could cost your service a £50.00 non-cancellation fee. Once your place has been reserved, you will be sent the Teams link and log in details in a separate email.
